Earlier today, Superintendent Pelt announced the hire of the new principal for Central Linn Jr/Sr High School to Central Linn staff. We are very excited to have Dean Rech join our team.
In response to a January job posting, the District received fourteen applications and then interviewed five highly qualified individuals. Three were selected to an evening “Meet and Greet” with staff, Board members, and the community. “Mr. Rech is a leader with experience and success building a positive culture for students, connecting to the community, and ensuring ALL students succeed. We are excited for him to get started on this new adventure with us as we grow and reconnect Central Linn and the community”, shared Superintendent Pelt.
Here is a statement from Mr. Rech to Central Linn:
“Hello, Central Linn. I am very excited to be part of the Central Linn family! I am passionate about education and am looking forward to preparing our students for college and career readiness. I have been in administration for 15 years in the Sheridan School District with two years as the district facilities administrator and thirteen years as the high school principal.
Before administration, I graduated from McNary High School in Keizer, Oregon, and went on to play college baseball and graduated from Western Oregon State College. I have been married to my wife Nancy for 32 years and have four children and two grandchildren. In our spare time, we like to go camping, hiking, and mountain biking. One of our favorite spots to camp is Wallowa State Park where we enjoy hiking into the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Central Linn community! There is something special about the small school atmosphere, where everyone knows one another by name. You’re not just a number! It is easier to build relationships and make connections with parents, students, staff and community. During my visits to the school, I met some amazing students, staff, and members of the community. I am excited about the 2023-2024 school year and am looking forward to meeting you!”
The District will host an opportunity for students and families to meet Mr. Rech in August. Please join us in welcoming him to Central Linn.
