Greetings, students and families!
It is with great excitement and joy that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Interim Administrator for Central Linn Elementary. It is an honor to serve with such an amazing staff as well as wonderful community members and students in continuing to move Central Linn forward in excellence, character, and education. I have been dedicated to the well-being and education of young lives for more than 15 years, including time as a 1st grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, Instructional Math Coach, and Vice Principal/Athletic Director. It has been my privilege to meet and work with many of you for the last five years at CLES, and I look forward to getting to know those of you whom I have not yet met.
Working with teachers and staff to ensure your child continues to receive a quality education at his or her individual level is one of our top priorities. Along with this, we at Central Linn will be working to focus on character education initiatives, data driven instruction, and a quality atmosphere which fosters safety and belonging for your child.
Throughout the year, we will be holding evening parent information meetings. These meetings will last approximately one to two hours and will be a great opportunity to stay informed on school happenings, ask questions, and learn how you can get involved with our parent group and your child’s classroom. Please keep an eye on our Cobra Tales and Facebook page for those dates and times. Our first gathering will be held on August 30th, from 4:15-5:15, immediately following Meet and Greet.
You will notice many new faces this year, as four new teachers will be joining the Central Linn family. Leah Klein joins us in Kindergarten, and Stephanie Roth will be joining Ms. Humberston in 3rd grade, as Ms. Roberts has moved to 2nd grade. Courtney Cunningham will be teaming up with Mrs. Derrickson in 5th grade, and Megan Day will teach 6th grade with Mrs. Davis while Mrs. Kerper enjoys a year at home with her new baby. Although not new to the building, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Mrs. Hoehn, who will be our new Title I Reading Specialist. Mrs. Hoehn joined us mid-way through the year last year and has done amazing work with some of our students in social group/social skills settings.
We are all excited to begin the new year and work with your child as he or she soars to the academic and social heights to which we know are possible! We treasure each and every one of our students and fully believe in their value and potential.
Have a great rest of your summer, and we will see you on August 30th!
